As guest architects for the joint studio between Zhejiang University and Politecnico di Milano, m|p joined professors and students for an on-site research program at the Grand Canal Museum of China.
The Grand Canal Museum of China in Hangzhou is an important urban cultural landmark, designed by Herzog & de Meuron.
In this project, milanesi|paiusco | FORME served as the technical design and construction consulting advisor for the concrete system.
From design thinking to material texture, formwork techniques, and finally to casting execution, we explored together how architectural concepts can be translated into built reality.We hope that through this hands-on exchange, a closer connection can be established between design, construction, and architectural education.
We look forward to deepening collaborations with academic institutions, turning real-world construction sites into dynamic, open classrooms for architectural learning.
